kicking the cobwebs off. need a place to vent and catch hell from others. here it is. i it's not going to be slickly produced or eye catchy but, the content will be solely mine and how i'm coping with the slow death i've been condemned to. now that we have the downside exposed. the upside is i have a place to vent. feel free to comment and subscribe. i love you all

vacation is over

after a month of false starts due to a frigid cellar, spring has finally arrived at a near tropical 60 degrees downstairs.

did a full short upper and maintained a decent sugar level throughout.

tried something different in my supplement regimen too.

for the first time i 'stacked' 2 products......
no-xplode and cellmass.

worked really well and the increase in strength was very obvious.

10 easy reps compared with the usual 7 or 8 on all 3 sets.

when the supplies of the stuff runs out in a week or so i'm taking off for a few weeks as per instructions on the bottles but, i will return using the same stuff albeit optimum nutrition stuff instead of bsn.

optimum's protein products are just friggin' great so WTF, i'll try their exercise supplements too.

looks like i'm settling into a long range fitness regimen and loving it.

going to the docs' on monday so we'll see how the numbers run and adjust accordingly.

good news on another front, social security disabled me so now i can afford my supplements without any guilt.

no splat today

the saying goes....

if you use the same methods over and over the results will never change.

started reading another 15 year old bodybuilding book that i had laying around.

took some sniglets from it.

tweaked my morning protein shake by stacking casein and whey.

got 3 good solid sets of  upper body work and NO HYPOGLYCEMIA!

132 at the end.

103 beginning 3rd set.

102 beginning 2nd set.

121 beginning 1st set.

let's see how i do tomorrow.

going to tweak timing a bit, thinking about starting a 'do not disturb' timeframe from when i start downing my first shake in the morning 'til i finish my elliptical cooldown.

change up when hitting a wall.

STILL SPLATTING

still hitting the hypoglycemia wall, might have found a solution.........

'nitro core 24' by optimum nutrition.

fast digesting and slow digesting amino acids in the same shake in the right proportion.

i'm getting some asap.

if this works, i'm back 'on the bicycle'.

splat

talk about hitting a wall.

blood sugar/energy levels are plummeting in only one set.

been poking about 160/165 at beginning of first set and 105/95 after first set.

this aint good.

tomorrow i'm going to stack whey and casein powder in my AM milkshake and see if that cures it.

i've been getting around the sugar jones by throwing in a second fast set about 5pm.

more to follow tomorrow.

what doesn't kill you

decided to power my way through a lower today with a milkshake starter instead of a tea and bar starter.

left column is time, right column is sugar number.

0734          128
0849          173 drank 18ozs no-xplode
1012          128 begin of first set
1027          116 begin of 2nd set
1043          106 begin of 3rd set
1105          121 end of 3rd set
1137          154 30 minutes after 6ozs of cellmass

the 106 number is borderline hypoglycemic for me and i was starting to feel like crap but, breaking through emotional obstacles is the tough one so just to reward myself, i punched out 10-280 lb. squats instead of the usual 7.

might throw another 20 on there after the 1st.

it appears my glucose meter is a more accurate indicator of my strength/endurance than just regulating my calorie/protein intake.

looks like over the next month or so i'm going to make a lot of holes in my fingers because i aint goin' to let chemistry deter me from crashing through the wall i'm up against.

doctor's visits are February, 15th and i want to be below 250 for them.

252 seems to be the wall as it has been since 2001 but, this time i got more tools to break it.

goin' to record upper workout tomorrow the same and see if there is a difference.
